A marvelous trip to Peloponnese
 

Athens, Sounion, Delphi, Piraeus, Glyfada

Day 1

Welcome to Greece! We pick you up from Athens airport upon arrival. We go straight to your hotel Emmantina at Glyfada area. After settling to your rooms, we are going for lunch or dinner at Sardelaki tavern, where fresh fish and ouzo is well known. After a walk to see Glyfada area, we continue our night to Vinyllion bar, which is just next to our hotel 70 s, 80s, 90s songs and dance all night long !

 

Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel and free sea swimming across the hotel or to the hotel piscine by drinking frappe on ice cubes! Depart for Acropolis at 11.00 am(visit Propylaea, Temple of Athena Niki, the Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the Acropolis museum). Then visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and after a short visit to Panathinaiko Stadium cradle of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Passage of the residence of the President of the Republic, the former Royal Palace, (guarded by guards Evzones), the Parliament building , the monument of the Unknown Soldier (during the changing of the guard). It is about 16.00 pm and we are hungry so we get to Monastiraki area and Thanassis tavern.The famous Greek souvlaki, mousaka and tzatziki are waiting for you! After our lunch Plaka area is accessible by foot and of course we will have a nice walk to famous Herodion theater. After a short coffee break, we get back to your hotel. If you want to rest you will do so, but I have an idea What do you think about greek bouzouki. Very close to your hotel there are several choices, so lets go! This is having fun on night Athens!

 

Day 3: There is no way as you are in Athens ,not to visit Sounion ! Departure from your hotel, for a wonderful car ride along the scenic coastal road, which allows a breathtaking view of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of the most beautiful suburbs of Athens (Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) . Destination Cape Sounion where you will visit the Temple of Poseidon, from the 5th century BC and enjoy the panoramic view is breathtaking ( on a day with clear horizon you can see at least seven islands! After we are going to visit Vlachika  spot, to Vari area. Have you ever taste goat hull and greek fresh yogurt? Now is the time to do so! Return to your hotel and you must go to bed early ,because we have a nice tour for tomorrow!

 

Day 4

After breakfast we are going to visit Delfoi! At 9:30 a.m.we begin our departure for Delphi via Thebes and Levadia where we make a short stop. We pass by and Arachova arrive in Delphi, known since ancient times as the navel of the earth.Pass the source Castalia and visit the Temple of Apollo famous for its oracle and the Museum of Delphi with the important discoveries such as the bronze Charioteer, the Sphinx of Naxos and the statue of Antinous.After lunch to tavern Epikouros, return to Athens having made a short stop in scenic Arachova known for its textiles, and formaela (local cheese).

 

Day 5

After breakfast ,we pick you up from your hotel and go to see Piraeus ,the largest port of Greece.We can visit a small island of Argosaronicos, such as Poros, Aegina, Hydra or just explore Piraeus and Castella ,Microlimano. We have lunch to a nice fish tavern at Piraiki area,taste octopus, fresh kalamari and enjoy sea and sun !We get back to our hotel. Night continues for a last visit to Glyfada or Athens center ,it is up to you!

 

Day 6

It is time to say goodbye.. Pick up from your hotel to airport after breakfast, for your scheduled flight. It was a pleasure meeting you in Athens! Hope to see you again soon

Kalavryta 

Kalavryta is a town and a municipality in the mountainous east-central part of the regional unit of Achaea, Greece. The town is located on the right bank of the river Vouraikos, 24 kilometres (15 miles) south of Aigio, 40 km (25 miles) southeast of Patras and 62 km (39 miles) northwest of Tripoli. Notable mountains in the municipality are Mount Erymanthos in the west and Aroania or Chelmos in the southeast. Kalavryta is the southern terminus of the Diakopto-Kalavryta rack railway, built by Italian engineers between 1885 and 1895.

 

Akrata

Akrata, is a town and a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Aigialeia, of which it is a municipal unit.[2] Akrata is located on the right bank of the river Krathis, 3 km from its outflow into the Gulf of Corinth. The Greek National Road 8A/E65 (Patras - Corinth) and the railway from Patras to Corinth pass through the municipal unit, northeast of the town. The nearest town is Aigeira, 4 km to the east. It is 23 km southeast of Aigio, 52 km east of Patras and 23 km northeast of Kalavryta.

 

Zarouchla

Zarouchla is a small picturesque village on the slopes of Mount Helmos( the name Helmos means snowy mountain in Slav) or Aroania at 1200m of altitude. Swamped in vegetation, surrounded by fir forests of rare fauna it is a very popular destination of Peloponnese, especially frequented by the Athenians on weekends. It takes from 1.30 to 2 hours of driving from Athens, depending on your speed, to get to Zarouchla.

 

Lake Stymphalia is also mentioned in Greek Mythology, due to the Stymphalian birds, which infested the Arcadian woods near the lake. Heracles' sixth labour was to exterminate them.
